Looking back and bringing it forward; the advertisements of yesteryear

There's a lot to be said for vintage ads.  They now stand as a type of time catalogue for what people were wearing/eating/buying/wanting many years before our existence... 

Most will stop and stare at one in wonder and curiosity. What does it mean? How did they come up with the concept? Is that improper/racist/sexist/provocative? Do I need to buy that, to feel/look like them? Do I go to that destination to find out MORE? Can that product really DO that? They were powerful and influential works of art/propaganda- made to arouse our minds and allow our imaginations to run free.

In contrast to many of today's very bland advertisements, which can blatantly force an idea onto us, vintage ads were, at the very least, interesting.
